Aircon Cleaning Services in Singapore
Most ex-pats in Singapore rent a unit (an HDB or condominium) to stay with family or share with friends. When renting a unit, the landlord and tenant agree on a few terms that must be followed during the tenancy. Aircon cleaning is one of the terms in almost all tenancy agreements. The agreement generally includes cleaning air conditioners as a tenant’s responsibility. Cleaning should be done every three months, and the tenant must hand over servicing invoices at the end of the lease. The tenant may lose some amount from the security deposit if the air conditioners do not work properly due to a lack of maintenance.

Every three months, the tenant is only required to perform general cleaning. Assume the air conditioner requires extensive repair. In that case, the cost is the landlord’s responsibility. If the cost exceeds the tenant’s agreed-upon maximum repair cost, which is usually around $150 Singapore dollars. Any repairs or maintenance that exceed this amount must be paid for by the landlord.

Numerous companies in Singapore can assist with aircon cleaning. You can obtain their services in two ways.
- Going into a 1 to 2-year contract with an aircon cleaning and maintenance company
- Without a contract, get a company’s services as needed.
The main difference is that signing a contract is generally less expensive. And the company usually notifies us when it is time for cleaning. As a result, it’s relatively convenient. If you do not have a contract, you must keep track of the cleaning/maintenance date and contact them to have the cleaning completed. If you sign a contract, you must pay the entire amount. For example, if you choose a one-year contract, you must pay the full amount on the first maintenance date.
